Shadow Hills RV Resort – Indio, California
Shadow Hills RV Resort is basically right off Interstate 10, in Indio, CA. We stayed there in January for 5 nights.
They have a electronic gate which you cannot enter unless you have a code, so you must remember your code, or you won’t be able to enter. No amount of button pushing will get them to open the gate. There is also no phone at the gate.
Check in was relatively painless, once we got in. Our parking site was adequate although our particular spot had a big hole in the concrete, just as you step out of your coach. It a relative small park with about 80 or so sites. Freeway noise could be heard at all hours as well as evening trains, paralleling I-10. Internet was almost non-existent and we had occasional cable TV issues. I reported the cable TV issues to reception and was basically called a liar. Two days later someone came and fixed the cable.
The relative closeness of La Quinta, Palm Desert, Indian Wells, Palm Springs, with their shopping, entertainment and restaurants does offset some of these issues however, but I cannot in good conscience recommend this RV resort. Marginal at best.
