Pontchartrain Landing RV Park – New Orleans, LA

Pontchartrain Landing RV Park is convenient to New Orleans. The round trip shuttle is a real plus.

The staff is friendly and competent. They helped me back my 5th Wheel into my RV space. Good Job! The park has very private luxury sites on the water with individual hot tubs, luxury waterfront condos, new houseboat accommodations, a restaurant and bar. They have clean rest rooms and showers.

The RV park was packed with about 20 motorhomes on a safari tour. They were happy campers and well behaved. In my opinion, the park is saturated with too many RVs for the facility to accommodate. For example, there are only 2 showers in one men’s room, 1 shower in another restroom, and 1 shower closed for 3 days.

The access roads are not paved. The roads are sparsely covered with gravel. As a result, clouds of dust permeate the campground during the day. Staff drive too fast in ATVs and golf carts further stirring up dust.

We were disappointed. This is my second visit to this campground. Conditions have severely deteriorated for RV customers since my first visit in 2007. I would research other alternative campsites on my next trip to New Orleans.
