Mt. Desert Narrows Campground – Bar Harbor, ME

Upon arrival at Mt. Desert Narrows Campground we were extremely dismayed to learn that our reserved campsite was no longer available. We traveled to the campground nearly 2 months prior for the sole purpose of picking out two campsites next to each other to accommodate our family. After deciding which sites we wanted, we made reservations at the front desk office area.

Upon arrival we learned that our campsite had been changed and we would not be adjacent to our family. I explained to the female assistant manager (Meredith?) that we had reserved the sites months in advance (with deposits paid), that we stay there every summer, and that we take time off work to spend several (four) days together. I requested that I be refunded for two days which I considered reasonable under the circumstances. She agreed to only refund one night. I explained to her that I was not satisfied and asked her to please advise her manager, Dave, that if I did not receive a two day refund that I would definitely not recommend this campground and would write unfavorable online and social media reviews. I never saw or heard from Dave.

In addition, the wifi was extremely slow and effectively unusable, five out of six of the arcade games were out of order, there were no campground activities (such as karaoke, live music, ice cream social, arts/crafts etc.), and the “heated” pool was not heated. We had a seven year old boy and ten year old girl who were extremely disappointed.
