Why Not Take a Holiday Road Trip to the Miami Seaquarium
Here’s another great holiday road trip… Waddle over to Miami Seaquarium this holiday season for penguin-perfect celebration. The holidays will feature the park’s newest interactive animal experience, a Penguin Encounter, informative presentations at the park’s penguin habitat, ‘Penguin Isle’, daily visits by the park’s new penguin costume character, a free penguin plush with the purchase of an online ticket package and more surprises!
Led by the park’s animal training staff, the new Penguin Encounter program provides a unique interaction with one of the world’s most beloved birds. Guests will experience African penguin behavior up-close and in an intimate setting. The ‘Penguin Encounter’ experience includes an interactive educational segment, penguin feeding and a 15-20 minute individual ‘Meet and Greet’ with the penguins inside the park’s new Penguin Isle exhibit.
“Miami Seaquarium is excited to be able to offer this new and highly-anticipated animal encounter program where visitors can interact with our African penguins in this unique and intimate setting,” said Andrew Hertz, General Manager at Miami Seaquarium.
The opening of the new ‘Penguin Encounter’ program will launch ‘Penguin Holidays’ at Miami Seaquarium. Starting Dec. 12th through Jan. 8th, when guests purchase a Family Four Pack online, they will receive a free penguin plush. Then in celebration of the holidays, the penguin festivities will continue at the park starting Dec. 24th through Jan. 9th, with Penguin costume character meet and greets, free penguin poster and t-shirt giveaways and daily penguin presentations.
The ‘Penguin Encounter’ program is an addition to the park’s current animal encounters including swimming with the dolphins, Seal Swim and Sea Trek Reef Encounter, an underwater helmet diving experience bringing park guests up close to reef aquarium residents. Beginning December 19th, the ‘Penguin Encounter’ program is offered once daily at 1:45 p.m. The cost is $105-$120 (plus tax) for participants ages 10 and older, and $85-$100 (plus tax) for participants ages 5-9. The program fee includes admission into the park and the penguin encounter. Participants must be five years or older and children under ten years old must be accompanied with a paying adult at all times.
