Woody Mountain Campground – Flagstaff, AZ

Several things make Woody Mountain Campground a very undesirable campground:

Dust and plenty of it! The sites are unprepared, no pads of asphalt or concrete, no mulch, so stones. Just dust! Horrible on your camper. The bath facilities were built decades ago with no updates and general maintaining. Shabby. Showers are a trickle. The playground area had two really large tractor tires in it which children were able to move them, stand them up, and my husband and I thought that was dangerous to risk them falling on a young child.

The pull through sites were nice but signs, roads, fences, etc are all old, falling apart, and poorly maintained. Unknown until night, there is a train yard nearby. The noise at night makes it difficult to sleep. It isn’t just trains passing through…it is trains backing into yards or industries with diesel motors grinding loudly all night.

Overall, I suggest that you not stay here. They charge a typical price of 31.00 per night but it is far from typical. Definitely the worse campground we have experienced.
